The Star is reporting that the office of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has decided to cut approximately $6 million in annual funding to city arts organizations.

If the proposal as put forward by city manager Joe Pennachetti goes through, big losers will include the Canadian Opera Company (currently with $1,317,015 in funding), the National Ballet of Canada (at $1,148,600) and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra ($1,134,036).
